Welcome! I have been working on decorating Pinecone Cottage for the holiday season. I am using it as a place to craft Christmas wreaths and ornaments. So it’s been a regular Santa’s Workshop. It is also a wonderful place to stash my gifts. My family does not think to look here to see what I have bought for them. Come on in and see all of the touches I have made in my garden shed.
This is my first Christmas where I have brought in a tree and added festive decorations. The tree came from our recreational property in the Blue Mountains. It was actually just the tip top of a large fir tree that we had to take down. Because of this it is a little spindly and Charlie Brown like. It makes me smile.
I made this homemade book page garland for my tree. It was so simple to make using an old paperback book. I used decorative edged scissors and cut the pages lengthwise. Then I used a glue stick to glue the strips. This was easy and inexpensive. Just as an aside, I would never use a vintage book for my book page crafts. Usually, I grab junky paperback books at yardsales, thrift stores or even the Dollar Store.
There is a second garland on the tree that I made as well. I crafted this garland from twine and some wood shaved pinecone shapes that I purchased last year. These wood shaved cutouts are paper thin and finely detailed. I just hot glued the stems to the twine.
Here are a few other Christmas vignettes that I created in Pinecone Cottage.
I was so excited to find the metal garden stakes that I plan on using in my herb garden this year!
I want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas! Thank you so much for visiting my little garden shed. I hope that you will have a blessed holiday and enjoy the time spent with your family and friends.
Oh my goodness, your shed looks amazing! How fun it must have been to decorate it all up!!
I may have to decorate my trailer next year like we talked about… this year it is tarped due to a leak that I’ll have to fix in the spring 🙁
Merry Christmas and here’s to a great 2018!!

Tania,
Thanks for the kind words. I had so much fun decorating everything! I am very sorry to hear about your trailer. I hope that the damage is not too severe and is easy to repair. Merry Christmas to you and Little Vintage Cottage!
