Do you like to decorate your home with wreaths? I have no less than 6 wreaths displayed in my home and garden. Although I enjoy wreaths of all kinds, some of my favorites are made from book pages. I currently have 2 different book page wreaths on display. Today, I want to show you a 3rd wreath that I created for a friend. This wreath also has touches of red, white and blue to make it festive for the 4th of July.
Book Page Wreath
Here are the steps to make this book page wreath.
Step 1
Start with book pages in a variety of different sizes. Accordion fold the pages about 1/2 inch wide.
Step 2
Use thread or thin string, tie off the center of each folded strip. I used matching thread to make mine.
Step 3
Gently pull the 2 opposite edges together and glue with a glue stick. The larger circles might need a bit of help to hold in place. You can use either paper clips or clothes pins to hold them together until they dry.
Step 4
Next use coordinating festive craft papers to cut center pieces for decorating the wheels. Just cut them into circles using decorative edged scissors and then glue onto the center of the paper wheel.
Step 5
Cut a piece of cardboard into a 10-12 inch circle. Cut out a 4-5 inch circle in the center to form a donut shape. Paint the cardboard cream or white to match the book pages. Finally, glue the circles onto the cardboard frame with a hot glue gun. Stagger the large and small circles as you arrange them on the wreath form.
Step 6
The last step is to attach colorful pipe cleaners to the back for hanging the wreath. I used red, blue and silver sparkly pipe cleaners. Just bend in a half circle and hot glue the edges to the back of the wreath.
This simple wreath is easy to create with just a little time and glue. You could use different seasonal craft paper for a variety of holidays. Hope you enjoy crafting your own book page wreath. Have a Happy 4th of July!
